Julanne Arnold

Beloved sister, mother and grandmother. Both born and raised in Chester, SC, USA in a Christian home by two wonderful, loving parents who were so proud of Julanne. In high school she was very active in an English club, the English Energetics, wrote for the high school news paper, sang in the church choir and was active in the Methodist Youth Fellowship. She received her undergraduate degree from Winthrop University in SC and a graduate degree in English from Duke University in NC. Needless to say, she was very bright and graduated with honours. Following graduate school, Julanne taught high school English for two years. She always had the city lights in her eyes and following the two years of teaching, she headed to New York where she worked, made many friends and enjoyed an active social life. Mutual friends introduced her to Roy and the romance began. They married in 1962, had two wonderful children and moved to Wimbledon, UK when Kate was four years old and Harry one. They lived in Wimbledon for about 8 years, before moving to Needham Market where Roy and Phillip Walker opened the antique tool and book business. Roy and Phillip dissolved the partnership amicably a few years later and Roy continued the business until his death in 2009. Julanne worked for Egon Ronay for many years, commuting to London daily and then worked for Farming Press in Ipswich until her retirement. Julanne died peacefully at Baylham Care Centre, whose staff took wonderful care of her, on Sunday the 25th November 2012.
